Communicaitons and Operations Co-Ordinator

Reports to: Executive Director
Type: Part-time | Approximately 20 hours per week
Location: Remote / Virtual
Compensation: Commensuate with Experience

Position Summary

4 My Canada is a national, grassroots organization that helps Canadians engage directly with their federal elected officials on issues that matter to them. The Communications & Operations Coordinator plays a key supporting role in the organization's day-to-day communications and operations, helping to keep supporters informed and engaged, assisting with issue-based advocacy campaigns, and supporting the smooth running of internal systems and processes.  They are also critical to rapid response initiatives when opportunities arise to mobilize the network for effective political action. 

Reporting to the Executive Director, this role combines hands-on communications work with operational and administrative support and offers the opportunity to contribute ideas as part of a collaborative team – without holding responsibility for setting overall strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media & Communications

  • Assist with rapid-response communications related to emerging issues and campaigns.

  • Prepare and schedule e-blasts to the organization’s email list.

  • Assist with the preparation, editing, publishing, and scheduling of social media reels and other digital content.

  • Monitor and respond to organizational emails as assigned.

  • Monitor social media channels and engage with comments requiring a response or that help increase meaningful audience engagement.

  • Assist with website updates to ensure information remains accurate and current.

 

 

Operations & Campaign Support

 

  • Provide administrative and operational support for issue-based advocacy campaigns, including rapid-response initiatives similar to the C-9 campaign in the spring of 2026.

  • Assist with coordinating campaign logistics, events, timelines, and communications.

  • Help improve internal organizational systems, processes, and operational efficiency.

  • Support relationship management by assisting with communications and coordination involving key stakeholders, ministry leaders, coalition partners, and campaign managers during election periods.

  • Assist with other organizational projects and administrative responsibilities as assigned.

 

Strategic Planning & Team Collaboration

 

  • Participate as an active member of the team by contributing ideas and feedback during planning discussions.

  • Assist in researching, developing, and refining campaign concepts and organizational initiatives.

  • Help identify opportunities to improve communications, campaigns, and organizational effectiveness.

  • Contribute to a collaborative team culture by providing thoughtful input while supporting the execution of organizational priorities.

 

Qualifications & Skills

 

  • 2+ years of experience in communications, marketing, administration, or nonprofit/advocacy work preferred.

  • Strong written communication skills, with experience producing e-blasts, social media content, or other digital communications.

  • Familiarity with social media management and scheduling tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, Hootsuite, Canva or similar tools are an asset) and basic website content management (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace) an asset.

  • Familiarity and comfort in using AI agent and AI assisted tools to increase productivity.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Comfortable working independently in a part-time role, with flexibility for occasional evening or weekend availability during active time sensitive campaigns or election periods.

  • Professionalism and discretion when engaging with stakeholders, ministry leaders, coalition partners, and elected officials.

  • An interest in Canadian civic engagement, public policy, or grassroots advocacy.

  • Post-secondary education in communications, political science, public relations, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.

  • Values working in working in a faith-based environment.

 

 

Working Conditions

This is a virtual part-time position of approximately 20 hours per week, with the possibility of increased hours during active campaigns or election periods. Schedule flexibility is required to accommodate rapid-response communications needs as they arise.

Video Editor

Reports to: Executive Director
Type: As Needed
Location: Remote / Virtual
Compensation: Commensuate with Experience

We are seeking a video editor to assist with editing interviews and creating social media clips on an as-needed basis. This is a rapid-response role suited to someone who can produce polished, engaging content within tight timelines.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a genuine passion for our work and mission

  • Have three to five years of video-editing experience

  • Be proficient in Final Cut Pro, which is strongly preferred

  • Ideally also have experience with Adobe Premiere Pro

  • Be responsive, dependable and attentive to detail

  • Be comfortable editing both full-length interviews and short-form social media content
