Our MPs returned to Ottawa today.
On Wednesday, they will debate MAiD for the mentally ill.
HOW WE GOT HERE
MAID is currently set to expand in March 2027 to include individuals whose sole underlying medical condition is mental illness.
MP Tamara Jansen has heroically stepped up to stop it with her bill, C-218.
On October 7th MP Tamara Jansen's bill will be voted on. If it passes that vote, it progresses to committee (good), if it doesn't, it dies (bad).
Her bill (if it passes) will stop the expansion of MAiD to:
....those with chronic addiction
....those with chronic depression
...those with eating disorders (likely)
...those who have simply lost hope in life
We can't let this happen. Our loved ones matter too much.
Think about this: Earlier this year MP Andrew Lawton said that if MAiD had been available to him in a dark season of his life, he might not be here today...this is sobering.
He is one of Canada's finest Christian MPs.
WHAT TO DO
We’re asking you to contact your own MP and then join us in making additional calls using the call lists and scripts we’ve prepared.
We did it for C-9, I know we can do it for this too...you never know whose life this campaign might save.
Even 2-3 phone calls each day can add up to a strong message.
