Version 1 – Clear & Direct

Hello, my name is _______. I’m calling regarding Bill C-9, the Liberal hate-speech legislation. Thank you for taking my call.

I understand Parliament returns on January 26th and that this bill will be back before committee. My family and I are deeply concerned about the impact this legislation could have on freedom of faith in Canada—especially following the recent amendment removing protection for sincerely held beliefs.

I respectfully ask that you encourage your colleagues on the Justice Committee to remove the Bloc amendment, vote against this bill if it returns to the floor, and—ideally—ask the Justice Minister to pull the bill altogether.

This issue matters greatly to me, and to many families in your riding. How your party responds will influence how my family and I vote in the future.

Thank you for your time.

Version 2 – Family-Focused

Hello, my name is _______. I’m calling about Bill C-9. Thank you for taking my call.

With Parliament resuming on January 26th, I understand this bill will return to committee. As a parent, I am deeply concerned about what this legislation—and especially the recent amendment removing protection for sincerely held beliefs—could mean for freedom of faith in Canada.

I’m asking you to urge your colleagues on the Justice Committee to remove that amendment, to oppose Bill C-9 if it returns to the House, and to encourage the Justice Minister to pull the bill altogether.

This is about the future my children and grandchildren will inherit. Your party’s actions on this issue will weigh heavily on how my family and others in your riding vote.

Thank you for listening.

Version 3 – Respectful but Firm

Hello, my name is _______. I’m calling regarding Bill C-9. Thank you for taking my call.

I understand the House resumes January 26th and this bill will again be before committee. I’m very concerned about the threat it poses to freedom of religion in Canada—particularly in light of the amendment removing protections for sincerely held beliefs.

I respectfully ask that you press your colleagues on the Justice Committee to reverse that amendment, vote against Bill C-9 if it returns to the floor, and ask the Justice Minister to pull the bill altogether.

This issue is deeply important to me and to many families in your riding, and it will influence our future voting decisions.

Thank you for your time.

Version 4 – Short & Strong

Hello, my name is _______. I’m calling about Bill C-9. Thank you for taking my call.

With Parliament returning on January 26th, I understand this bill will be back in committee. I’m deeply concerned about its impact on freedom of faith—especially after the amendment removing protection for sincerely held beliefs.

Please urge your colleagues to remove that amendment, vote against this bill if it returns to the House, or better yet, ask the Justice Minister to pull the bill altogether.

This decision will affect how my family—and many others in your riding—vote going forward.

Thank you for your time.
