SCRIPT
Version 1 – Warm and Direct
Hello, my name is [Name], and I am calling to respectfully ask [MP Name] to support the motion to bring an end to Bill C-9 and eliminate it in it's current form.
Canadians are already protected by existing laws against hate and violence. Many of us believe this bill goes too far and raises serious concerns about freedom of expression, freedom of conscience, and religious freedom.
Please do the right thing and vote to end this bill once and for all. This issue matters deeply to me, my family, and many Canadians across the country.
How I vote, and how my family votes in the next election, will be influenced by the outcome of this decision.
Thank you for your time and for your service to Canada.
Version 2 – Strong but Respectful
Hello, my name is [Name], and I am calling to urge [MP Name] to support the motion to stop Bill C-9.
Current Criminal Code provisions already provide strong protections against hate crimes and violence. This bill is unnecessary and has created significant concern among Canadians who value fundamental freedoms.
